Today we want to provide 10 simple recommendations for easy coexistence within a community of owners because we are convinced that a good coexistence improves any community.
Coexistence is one of the most complicated aspects to regulate in a community of neighbours. Although each one establishes its own rules by means of statutes or agreementsWe would like to propose 10 simple ideas to improve coexistence.
These recommendations are based on our experience and common sense. In the interest of the smooth running of the community, of which you are now a part as an owner or guest, here are 10 tips for living in a community in a more positive way.
Tips for living together
1. Introduce yourself to your new neighbours. Even if you think it is a mere formality, getting to know the members of your new community can be very beneficial. This creates a climate of mutual trust and security, encourages conversation and generates solidarity.
2. Take care of the common areas. It is true that you do not have to clean the swimming pool, the corridors or the lift, but neither is it necessary to contribute to making them more neglected. In fact, you should take care of these areas as if they were your own, since you share their property and you are going to live there too.
3. Return what you have borrowed. If your neighbour has been kind enough to lend you a tool that you needed or salt, be grateful for this gesture, because it undoubtedly promotes solidarity and a better coexistence between owners.
4. Moderate unnecessary noise, especially at rest hours. With prudence and common sense, anything can be done. You have the right to organise barbecues or parties, but think about the rest and health of the other neighbours. Remember that there are also rules of coexistence that you have all agreed upon. Don't create a bad atmosphere.
5. Dialogue. Conflicts and differences are bound to arise in any coexistence. Our first piece of advice is that you should always engage in dialogue and seek thoughtful solutions to problems. Before using the easy way out of complaints, claims or confrontations between neighbours, let us think that these disagreements can be dealt with without having to reach a conflict. You can always keep in mind the statutes and the agreements made at the meeting.
6. Be constructive. At owners' meetings, one of the basic rules is to adopt a constructive stance. Our attitude should be to respect the internal rules of the community and to bear in mind that the opinions of each of the owners are as valid and respectable as our own.
7. Respect the work of professionals. A community of owners usually delegates many tasks to administrators or service providers. We should value them for their results, for their professionalism and also for the empathy they show for the community's day-to-day problems.
8. Maintain a sense of community. If you have been elected president, don't think that you are above others. You are simply a representative who must ensure that the community functions properly and that it is well run. But also, from your profile as an owner, you can contribute effectively by your example to making the community better every day.
9. Contribute to the common expenses. Being part of a community also means contributing to the ordinary and extraordinary common expenses, because they are the guarantee for maintaining or improving the quality of life in the community. Contributing is the best example of respect for your neighbours.
10. Cultivate personal relationships. You should not consider that everything ends within the four walls of your property. Go out and live together and foster personal relationships in your community, always maintaining cordiality, empathy and mutual respect.
